Ride One, Ride All in the ERABC 2020
    COVID-19 Challenge!

    Starting Friday May 1, 2020

This Endurance season looks different for us all as a result of the pandemic crisis, and we want to encourage our members that are still able, to get out and ride.

We all hope that the lockdowns of barns and closure of parks will be lifted before too long, but in the meantime we invite you to join in some fun ride challenges.

All current members of ERABC are registered!

    • Monthly draws for all participants in two categories: 40 km - 70 km and 80 km and up!
    • High Overall Kilometers (junior & senior) - one rider any number of horses
    • Dynamic Duo - highest kilometers recorded, one horse one rider
    • Family or Team Challenge (minimum of 3 teams need to participate for this challenge to run)-form a team of 2-4 riders, either family members isolating together, or a virtual team with friends, advise us by email: bmm@telus.net, of who is on your team, Team Name, and monthly kilometers of all team members will be combined for team high distance!
    • Other surprise awards to be announced!

These challenges will be open month by month, and you must log your ride kilometers and enter your results on the ERABC google spreadsheet found HERE. Results must be entered by the 5th of the month following the end of the competition month, in order to be considered for PRIZES!!

Both trail and arena miles count as long as you can log the distances. There are many good free apps to track distance, speed etc. of your ride IE: Strava, Equilab, Endomondo… that can be downloaded to your phone, and don’t run off of data. So Saddle up, and let’s have some FUN!

*If we are unable to gather at real rides this season, we will accumulate monthly totals from this challenge for consideration for year-end awards.

Our AGM was held in Kamloops on 17 November. The event was very well attended. Everyone came away with a wealth of information about Endurance Horse Heart Health thanks to an informative presentation by Dr. Britt Mills. Stay tuned to hear about news to come from the business meeting. One significant outcome was that a committee was formed to consider a request from BCCTR to come under the ERABC umbrella. This transition will be discussed in the upcoming months.

The Sandman hotel was a really good venue, with lovely rooms appreciated by all. They served a wonderful dinner for our awards banquet. Full award winner results will be available under the Results tab soon. Congratulations to all!

Our annual AGM was held in Merritt on November 18. At the meeting club finances, policies and other business were presented. Tentative ride dates for 2018 were presented; check the website for the proposed dates. Guest speaker Heather Wimer gave an interesting presentation on preparing and conditioning horses for all distances of rides - very interesting for all levels of riders.

The awards banquet capped off the evening. Thanks to Brenna for doing most of the award gathering and Tracy for beautiful pottery awards once again!

This site is complementary to our erabc.com website. You can join or renew your memberships either here or through the website, but the great thing is that you can manage your own information. You get your own login information and can update your address or email, etc. Let us know what you think!
